Congrats about jobs, ouch about less garden space.
But having read and loved this blog, I am sure you guys will figure out a way to grow food by the beach. If NYC apartment dwellers can grow stuff on roof tops, you guys can figure out something. Check into hydroponic gardening- there is a whole way to grow stuff in windows using recycled pop bottled and tubing. Will send the link as soon as I figure out where I put it!

Congratulations on scoring a beach house on the Oregon Coast! Your mother and I intend to make good use of the guest room. Very smart to leave the raised beds behind. I think you've found a place to call home for a few years.

Congratulations on the move and I feel your pain about moving to a place that doesn't have room for a garden. Also, I have been vermicomposting for about 10 months now and it's really fun. Best of luck with it! Here is a tip: grind your eggshells into a powder (or at least into really fine pieces) before you put them in the bin. It really helps keep the fruit flies away!
